Museo Orlina: More than Just a Glass Sculpture Exhibit in Tagaytay.

MUSEO ORLINA is a must-visit place in Tagaytay art enthusiast or not. Showcasing the artistry of the world-renowned artist Arch. RAMON ORLINA. The museum offers a vantage location wherein Taal volcano and lake can be viewed.

The building consists of 5 floors, each floor was named after Orlina’s children and can be accessed using an elevator or stairs.

Level 1 is the Reception area and Reflections Gallery. It is space devoted to changing exhibitions reflecting the vitality of contemporary Philippine Art.

Level 2 displays a vast collections of his glass sculpture from past to present. It showcases his most recent works made of crystals and glass in different color.

One of the visitor’s favorite is the Virgen Maria a Serene Visage of Blessed Mother has the direct eye-level gaze that inspires pure stillness but seem to follow the viewer as he/she moves to the right or left.

Level 3 The gallery showcases the small sculptures and photographs of Orlina’s monumental indoor and outdoor works here and abroad.

In the middle is a torso sculpture inspired by the  leaning of  Ms. Pilita Corales.

A bronze bust portrait of Piolo Pascual, the matinee idol of Philippine cinema. Piolo himself is a graduate of UST was a personal choice of the artist to personify “The Student” in the Quattromondial sculpture in the UST.

The Roof deck is the terrace that opens up to the museum with a view of Taal lake and volcano.

In the lower level they have here the Tagaytay Art Beat where they celebrate art and music which is one of the much-awaited festivals in the Tagaytay!

Local Filipino musical talents take the stage alongside the artworks at Tagaytay Art Beat. With the event’s aim to make local indie music accessible to everyone. The event makes sure that every Art Beat guest goes home with a new playlist to listen to.

Sculpture garden and amphitheater displays artwork geometric abstract. There is a stage in front for dance and musical presentations.

Before, I thought museums are boring and unworthy of a visit. Now, I think we should visit museums more often because it is here where we learn and discover things.
