Taal Basilica, also known as Basilica Menor de San Martin de Tours, with a length of 88.6 meters (291 ft.), a width of 48 meters (157 ft.), is certainly the largest in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia. It has one of the finest architectural designs, the most eye-catching structures, and the pride of Batangas.
This magnificent ‘larger than life’ historical monument is named after the patron saint of Taal, Saint Martin de Tours, whose fiesta is celebrated every November 11th. The Basilica’s size and Baroque façade are awe-inspiring. Its extraordinary structure is, even more, captivating with the addition of dome ceilings hand-painted with intricate detail. The Taal Basilica was renovated and restored after three years of destructive quake that hit Batangas province, the latest of which was the eruption of the Taal Volcano in February 2020.
The old facade has a rustic and quaint appearance, while the new one is built up with brick and mortar walls.

The Basilica is a very prominent structure as it is sitting on top of a hill, making it visible in most parts of the town proper and its neighboring town.
The inside of the church is spacious, airy, peaceful, and clean. Everyone will be fascinated with its elegant altar, glorious dome, and ornate ceiling.
