Foodie Review: Mr. Roboto Japanese Themed Restaurant Alabang

Sundays are meant to spend with family. There is always something new to learn and feel each Sunday. This is why we looked for a different and new feels one Sunday at Alabang Town Center.

After we attended mass at Saint Jerome Emiliani Church, we looked for a restaurant that will satisfy our Asian food craving at Mr. Roboto. classic Japanese food is on the menu prepared and served using modern technique that will make their customers feel nostalgic. From the logo of a robot, to the anime names of the menu choices, to the photo collage of the classic anime characters from 70’s – 80’s, the more I reminisce of my childhood.

The exterior is a full glass wall which made the place appealing since you can see through what to expect inside.

The interior:

A Collage of 70s – 80’s robot character on the upper portion of the wall made my heart smile as I reminisce about my all time favorite, Voltes V.

What we ordered:

Pork Katsu – P 395. 00

The kids ordered pork tonkatsu (all three of them.) The classic pork Katsu I know is that it is served with egg but here, it is served with pickled vegies, vegetable tempura topped on rice. It comes with three choices of drippings (curry, gravy or cheeze). For me, cheeze is better than the other sauces. For the kids, of course they liked the gravy.

Modern Sushi Voltes V – P 280.00

Of course, I tried the modern sushi Voltes V. This is not the typical sushi I know. It is composed of fried ebi wrapped in kani salad and Wasabi mayo on top of cucumber roll.

Kani Salad Bomb- P 250

Aris tried the Kani Salad bomb since it looks appetizing. This kani salad is compose of shredded lettuce, cabbage and udon noodles tossed in roasted sesame dressing Topped with sea weed and fried kani balls.

Impression:

Price: Reasonable

Taste: Satisfactory

Place: Too small; 30 customers are just enough for the space. No actual robots were displayed.

Good points: Open kitchen, clean place, good background music, classic yet modern.

We will definetly revisit this place and will try other menus
