Bag of Beans Main, One of Tagaytay’s Gorgeous Dining Spots

Bag of Beans Tagaytay

I’ve been a fan of Bag of Beans Tagaytay Main ever since I visited the restaurant in 2018. I fell in love with the restaurant’s beautiful interiors and charming floral accents from wall to ceiling. Indeed, this branch is one of Tagaytay’s gorgeous dining spots.

What To Expect Inside the Bag of Beans Tagaytay Main Branch:

The main entrance of the restaurant has vibrant-colored hanging umbrellas, lovely plants at the pathways, and a wooden swing chair that creates a welcoming ambiance. The light music plays in the background, and the warm greetings of the staff are very inviting.

Indoor Dining:

The Garage theme space near the entrance will surely give you a good vibe if you are a motorcycle enthusiast or simply like the masculinity touches in a restaurant. This unique concept uses a real motorcycle as wall art decoration. Motorcycle parts & accessories, old plate numbers, and road directions are also all over the place.

The restaurant has a mini library space that offers books for reading within the restaurant’s premises. I’m sure this library-inspired space will make every book lover enjoy having coffee while reading.

With Christmas just around the corner, the restaurant has a spot for Christmastime. This rustic Christmas room will be perfect for dinner or a simple snack with loved ones. This spot will give a happy Christmas vibe.

Alfresco Dining Area:

Fresh air with a relaxed ambiance and a socially distanced seating arrangement is all we need to have worry-free dining out. With its background, this wide-open-spaced garden setting feels like you are having a meal in one of the restaurants in Italy. It has a festive look and a happier vibe than the indoor dining area. Pets are allowed in the Alfresco dining area.

The food:

Bag of Beans serves Filipino, Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisine. They served the food on a big plain white platter, which made it very appealing.

Here are some of the food we tried during our recent visit:

Fresh Garden Salad– This mixture of raw vegetables is very refreshing to eat. I love the colorful presentation of the salad. The sweet and tangy dressing is perfect for crisp greens, carrots, and cucumber strips.

Chicken Pork Adobo – This all-time favorite dish comes with two pieces of sunny-side-up eggs, garlic rice, and fruits in season. The chicken and pork meat are fork-tender with a very thick sauce. This dish is very flavorful and goes very well with the garlic rice.

Bangus Belly with Laing. – The fish is very tender and full of flavors. The Laing on the side is not too spicy, but they add a piece of red chili pepper if you want it spicier. The fish and the Laing go well with the freshly cooked rice.

Breaded Prawns – These fresh breaded prawns are crisp and served with tonkatsu sauce, vegetable tempura, and Japanese pickles. This crunchy yet moist appetizer is flavorful, especially when dipped into the tonkatsu sauce.

Coffee – The Cappuccino has a rich flavor, while the House blend does not have a strong, bold taste.

Overall impression:

  • Although the restaurant’s location is on the opposite side of the famous Taal Lake and without any view of the volcano, The restaurant is still all worth the visit.
  • The restaurant’s furnishings,  ceiling fixtures, and floral decors complement each other, making it aesthetically pleasing.
  • The place is spotless and tidy,
  • The wait staff are very attentive and gave quick service.
  • The food tastes good and is reasonably priced.
  • Strictly follows COVID-19 minimum standard health protocol
  • Large parking space.
  • Clean and nice smelling restroom.
  • Very accessible
